Who is responsible
Puremelodybrixal Ltd, company no. 14397528, is responsible for personal information we process for this website and editorial correspondence. Our registered office is 42 Orchard Passage, York YO1 7HT, United Kingdom. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Reading the website
This static website does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, user accounts or an embedded submission service. Delivering web pages necessarily involves technical information such as your IP address, requested resources and browser information being handled by the hosting infrastructure. Technical logs, where retained for security and reliable delivery, are used for those purposes rather than behavioural advertising.
The local message tool
Text entered in the conservation-note tool is processed in your browser. The tool does not submit your draft to us or save it to local storage. Copying places the prepared text on your device’s clipboard, subject to browser permissions. Downloading creates a text file on your device. Your browser or device may independently retain form history, clipboard history or downloaded files according to your settings.
If you choose to send the note by email, we receive your email address, message and any information you include. Your email service and ours handle that correspondence under their own arrangements. Please send only the information necessary for the enquiry and avoid confidential site-security or sensitive personal details.
Why we process correspondence
We use correspondence to answer enquiries, assess corrections, maintain an editorial record and protect the website against misuse. Our usual lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a useful publication and responding to readers, balanced against their rights. Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, we rely on that obligation. We do not add correspondents to a marketing list.
Browser preferences
The preference tool on our Cookies page saves a choice in local storage on your browser only when you ask it to. It does not identify you to us. You can change that choice or delete it through browser settings. No optional tracking is currently implemented by this website.
Sharing and international handling
Access to correspondence is limited to those who need it for the purposes above. Hosting and email providers may process technical information or messages to provide their services. We do not sell personal information. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK and applicable law requires safeguards, appropriate transfer arrangements must be used.
Retention and security
We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to answer it, follow up an editorial issue, maintain a justified record or meet legal requirements. Retention depends on the content and purpose rather than a single period for every message. We aim to minimise retained information and restrict access. No website or email service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive certain information in a portable format. Contact us to exercise a right; we may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. We would also welcome the opportunity to address your concern directly.

Linked institutions operate their own websites and privacy notices. Following a link leaves this site. We may update this notice when our practices change; the date above identifies this version.
